Satellite Dish Installation — Everest Aerials & Satellites

Whether you want Sky Q, Freesat or foreign satellite channels, precise dish alignment is everything. A dish a single degree off true south loses half its signal in poor weather. Our engineers use professional-grade signal meters to align every dish to the exact azimuth and elevation for your satellite — never by eye.

What Is Included in Your Satellite Dish Installation

How It Works — Satellite Dish Installation — Sky, Freesat & International

  1. Property & Sky View Assessment
Our engineer identifies the best dish mounting position — checking for unobstructed south-facing sky view, the correct satellite arc, and the cleanest cable route — before any hardware is touched.
  2. Precise Dish & LNB Fitting
The dish is mounted with weatherproof fixings and aligned precisely using a professional satellite signal analyser — not a signal bar on a receiver. The correct LNB is fitted for your specific Sky Q, Freesat, or international service.
  3. Cabling, Receiver Connection & System Setup
Coaxial cable is routed neatly from dish to receiver with all joints weatherproofed. We connect and fully configure your receiver — Sky Q, Freesat, or international — ready for a complete channel scan.
  4. Full Channel Scan, Demonstration & 5-Year Guarantee
We complete the channel scan, confirm every expected channel is available, demonstrate the system, and issue a written 5-year guarantee on all parts and workmanship before we leave.

UK Transmitter Coverage — How Signal Conditions Affect Satellite Dish Installation

Signal strength and quality varies significantly across the UK depending on your distance from the local Freeview transmitter, local terrain, and property type. Our engineers understand the transmitter landscape for your specific location — and specify equipment accordingly rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

Precision Dish Alignment from Engineers Who Do This Every Day

A satellite dish that isn't perfectly aligned will never deliver a reliable picture, no matter how expensive the equipment is. Our engineers use professional signal analysers on every job to achieve precise alignment — not just good enough. We handle Sky Q upgrades, Freesat installations and international multi-satellite systems with the same care, and every installation is sealed weatherproof and guaranteed for 5 years.

How We Work — Satellite Dish Installation

  1. Step 1: We assess the southern sky from all feasible mounting positions on your property and select the location with the fewest obstructions
  2. Step 2: The dish is mounted securely with weatherproof fittings appropriate to your wall or roof material
  3. Step 3: Alignment is performed to the correct azimuth, elevation and skew for your satellite and postcode using a signal meter
  4. Step 4: Cable is routed neatly from the dish to your receiver — through the loft wherever possible
  5. Step 5: All channels are scanned and picture quality verified before we leave

Satellite Dish Installation Cost

Satellite dish installation costs from £120–£280 depending on dish size, mounting position, cable run and satellite. Sky Q dishes start from £120. Freesat installations from £130. International dishes (Hotbird 13E, Arabsat/Badr 26E) start from £160. All prices include a full channel scan and alignment verification.

Frequently Asked Questions — Satellite Dish Installation

Can you install a satellite dish so I can subscribe to Sky myself?

Yes. We install and align Sky Q and Sky Q Mini compatible dishes for customers who have purchased their own equipment or who are setting up a self-install Sky subscription. You arrange the subscription; we provide the professional dish installation.

Do I need planning permission for a satellite dish?

Most domestic satellite dishes are covered by permitted development rights and do not require planning permission, provided the dish is not on a chimney stack, is smaller than 100cm, and does not protrude above the roof ridge. Listed buildings and conservation areas are exceptions. We advise you before starting.

Can I receive foreign satellite channels?

Yes. International channels from Arabic, European, Asian and other broadcasters are available via Hotbird (13E), Arabsat/Badr (26E), Astra (19.2E) and other satellites. Dish size requirements vary by satellite and your distance from the southern horizon. We specify the correct setup for the channels you want.

My satellite signal drops in heavy rain — can you fix this?

Signal dropout in rain (rain fade) is usually caused by underpowered equipment, incorrect dish alignment, or a dish that is too small for your latitude. A larger dish and precise realignment resolve this in most cases.

Can you align a dish for both Sky and Freesat on the same satellite?

Yes. Sky Q and Freesat both use the Astra 28.2E satellite. A single correctly aligned dish with the right LNB configuration serves both systems simultaneously.
