What Is Included in Your Multi-Room TV Systems

How It Works — Multi-Room TV Systems — Sky & Freeview to Every Room

  1. Property Survey & Cable Route Planning
Our engineer surveys your property, plans cable routes from aerial or dish to every room requiring TV, calculates the correct amplification specification for your number of TV points, and confirms the full system design before starting.
  2. Cable Installation to Every Room
Quality coaxial cable is run from the central distribution point to every room — through loft spaces, cavity walls, and floor voids wherever possible to minimise surface cabling throughout the property.
  3. Distribution Amplifier & Signal Balancing
We install the correct amplifier and splitter configuration, balancing signal levels so every TV point in the house receives adequate strength for reliable Freeview or satellite reception without any room being weaker than others.
  4. Signal Tested at Every TV Point & Guaranteed
Signal is measured and confirmed at every room before we leave. All TVs are tuned to every available channel, and we issue a written 5-year guarantee on the complete multi-room distribution system.

UK Transmitter Coverage — How Signal Conditions Affect Multi-Room TV Systems

Signal strength and quality varies significantly across the UK depending on your distance from the local Freeview transmitter, local terrain, and property type. Our engineers understand the transmitter landscape for your specific location — and specify equipment accordingly rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

TV in Every Room — Done Properly, Done Once

Getting Freeview or Sky to multiple rooms without ugly cables running along skirting boards takes proper planning and the right equipment. Our engineers design a distribution system for your property, run all cabling through walls and ceiling voids where possible, and test every outlet before they leave. Every room gets an independent signal — no signal degradation, no channel restrictions.

How We Work — Multi-Room TV Systems

  1. Step 1: We measure signal at the aerial and calculate the correct amplifier gain and splitting ratio for the number of outlets required
  2. Step 2: The distribution amplifier is installed in the loft or at the main aerial entry point
  3. Step 3: Cables are run through the loft void and down to each room, with neat wall plate terminations
  4. Step 4: Signal level is measured at each outlet — a correctly designed system delivers consistent signal at every point
  5. Step 5: All TVs are retuned and picture quality verified at each room before we leave

Multi-Room TV Systems Cost

Multi-room Freeview distribution starts from £150 for a 2-room system including amplifier, cable runs and wall plates. 4-room systems from £220. 6-room and whole-home systems from £320. Larger properties and blocks of flats require a commercial IRS design and are quoted on survey.

Frequently Asked Questions — Multi-Room TV Systems

Can each TV watch a different channel?

Yes — this is the main advantage of aerial distribution over streaming. Each TV independently tunes to any Freeview channel, with no buffering, no subscription and no internet dependency.

How many rooms can one aerial feed?

With the correct distribution amplifier, a single aerial can reliably feed 4–8 rooms. Beyond 8 outlets, a higher-specification amplifier or a second distribution stage is required. We specify the correct equipment for your property.

Can I add Sky to a multi-room aerial system?

Sky Q supports wireless multi-room for Sky content through its own Mini boxes. The aerial distribution system runs alongside Sky Q — all rooms receive Freeview channels via the aerial, and Sky rooms additionally have the Sky Q Mini box for Sky content.

Do you install aerial points in rooms that currently have none?

Yes. If you need aerial points in rooms where there is no existing socket, we route new cable from the loft distribution point during the same installation. The cost is included in the system price quoted.
