- Dedicated DAB Band III aerials — omnidirectional for maximum national coverage
- Directional high-gain FM Yagi arrays for interference-free stereo reception
- Low-vibration mounts eliminate wind-induced audio noise
- Single installation can feed multiple hi-fi, AV and audio distribution points
Combined TV and DAB installations are the most cost-effective option for Southport homeowners who want both services: a single coaxial cable from the roof carries both the TV and DAB signals, separated inside the property via a passive diplexer. This approach is used across Birkdale and Ainsdale and throughout Merseyside where running a separate cable for the radio aerial is not practical. Our engineers specify the correct diplexer for your signal levels and confirm that both TV and DAB performance is maintained after combining.
For Southport properties where only DAB reception is required — typically for a kitchen or bathroom radio system — a small omnidirectional Band III aerial on the loft or a side elevation provides excellent reception without the visual impact of a full rooftop installation. We test in-loft DAB signal levels before recommending this option, and only proceed where signal margin is confirmed adequate.
Our engineers use local routes like the A565 to easily navigate across the entire Southport sector. Whether you need a clear DAB or FM aerial fit in central residential hubs or a multi-room radio feed across the surrounding PR8 and PR9 borders, our mobile service vehicles carry DAB and FM aerials and signal meters to sort out poor radio reception.

Frequently Asked Questions — DAB & FM Radio Aerials in Southport
How much does a DAB aerial installation cost in Southport?
A dedicated DAB aerial installation in Southport starts from £89, including the aerial, mounting hardware, cabling and connection to your tuner or AV receiver. A combined TV and DAB installation sharing a single coaxial cable starts from £119 — the most popular option in Merseyside.
Why is my DAB radio reception poor in Southport?
Poor DAB reception in Southport is almost always caused by an inadequate internal antenna. DAB signals require a specific Band III aerial mounted outside the building for reliable reception. Our engineers install the correct aerial type for your distance from the nearest Southport area DAB transmitter.
Can a DAB aerial feed multiple rooms in Southport?
Yes. A single DAB aerial can feed multiple rooms using a signal distribution amplifier — the same approach used for TV signals. We design combined TV and DAB distribution systems for Southport properties where whole-home audio coverage is required.
Do I need a separate aerial for FM and DAB in Southport?
In most Southport locations, a single Band III DAB aerial covers DAB reception well. A dedicated FM aerial is only required for audiophile hi-fi systems where maximum FM stereo performance is the priority. We advise on the best solution for your specific system and listening requirements.
Can you install a DAB aerial for a hi-fi system in Southport?
Yes. This is a common specialist installation for Southport hi-fi enthusiasts. We supply and install the correct aerial type for your tuner or AV receiver, route the feeder cable neatly into your equipment rack, and test reception across all available DAB stations and FM frequencies.
Will my DAB aerial work in Southport for all local stations?
DAB coverage in Southport and Merseyside includes all national BBC and commercial multiplexes plus local multiplexes carrying regional stations. Our engineers verify coverage at your specific location and specify the antenna gain required to receive all available local stations reliably.
